Choosing the Correct Massage Therapist
Knowing what to expect when getting a massage is very important. Massage Therapy is like the storybook of The Three Bears. This one is too hard. This one is too soft and then you have “just right.” I put together some frequently asked questions because choosing the correct massage therapist is so important.
What does LMT stand for?
Licensed Massage Therapist. An LMT has over 500 hours of school and training. LMTs are state licensed and Nationally Certified. Make sure these certificates are hanging in the office or ask to see them.
What can I expect on my first visit?
You will be given a client history form. On this form, you will be asked about medical conditions, surgeries, areas of pain and level of pain in that area, and reason for this visit. You will be asked about your goals for the treatments. The LMT will usually assess your problem and put you on a treatment plan.
Do I need to remove all my clothes?
You will be asked to remove your clothes in the privacy of the room. You may keep underpants or loose fitting shorts on. Climb onto a soft table and cover up with the sheet and blankets provided for you. Only the area being massaged will be exposed. Your privacy should be valued and maintained at all times.
What are the hygienic recommendations?
Massage rooms should be cleaned and sanitized after each client. Clean sheets should be used for each client. The massage therapist also needs to evidence that they are clean and well groomed to the client.
What do I do during the Massage?
Relax, close your eyes, and don’t think about what you have to do after the session. Breathe. If you feel discomfort or the air in the room is too hot or too cold, speak up.
What are your prices?
˝ hour $ 40.00
1 hour $ 65.00

I’m glad I could help with these frequently asked questions. I am here Monday through Friday. I look forward to meeting you and providing Massage Therapy.
