Hormones: Libido

I want to share with you one of the conversations I have with my patients on almost a daily basis.   Libido (or should I say the lack of it) almost always comes up.   They want to know what happened to it. Is it the attraction has been lost? What is going on with my body? The mind is willing but the body doesn't respond.   No, it doesn't mean we are no longer attracted to our spouses or significant other.   It simply means the hormones that stimulate our body are not working properly.

What Does Testosterone Have To Do With It?

Highlight News:   New research is blowing away an accepted medical "truth."   Testosterone is not to blame for low libido any more.   It turns out that imbalanced hormone levels are and that means adrenal gland and pitutary fatigue are  very likely to blamed for low libido.  The pitutary and adrenals have a relationship, and  as with  any relationship, miscommunication (stress in this case)  can create havoc. Hormone levels become imbalanced.  Libido is affected.

Medical doctors have longed blamed low sex drive in women on dwindling testosterone levels and many females are being encouraged to up their testosterone with pills, patches, creams, sublinguals, and pellet injections.   The reason why insurance companies are not paying for these treatments is because testosterone replacement still has not been FDA approved for women and with good reason.   No women should take testosterone-- especially peri-menopausal and menopausal women!   Your chances of heart disease, breast and uterine cancer sky rocket. Researcher Susan Davis, Director of Research at the Jean Hailes Foundation in Melbourne said it best.   "All the talk of enhancing sexual performance and the ‘pink Viagra' tag is HIGHLY misleading.  Plus, your new found sex drive is short lived and your body will crash within a matter of 6 months to a year.  If you think you were easily irritated before you started testosterone, just wait until you experience the "testosterone rage".

They're now giving pills to sedate you with testosterone to keep you from flipping out in the testosterone rage. You get to experience of the dichotomy of having the Burnin Yearnins and being Mellow Yellow all at the same time. You've got the urge but you're too out of it to do any thing about it. You will have to make a choice between uncontrolled rage or having to live your life in a fog. We are offering you a safe natural alternative in restoring your libido.

Those of you that know us know that we believe in treatment by a priority list. If we follow this, many aspects of your health will be restored. We recommend you start by doing a Metabolic and Neurotransmitter Assessment Forms. These forms will give us information on how well the organs that make the hormones are working. Then using the priorities, we can guide your body back to health, regaining your libido and keeping it without the undesired effects. (Blood work, hormone panels,  and saliva testing are available if needed.)

What causes adrenals and pitutary to become fatigued?   Primarily poor diet and chronic stress (both mental and physical).   Sound familiar?   We know it is so easy to get caught up in bad nutrition habits.  The effects of stress and poor diet can be repaired. Let the romancing begin.
